Major Minors Junior Orchestra is always keen to welcome new members, from age 6 to 14. Players should be having lessons in their chosen instrument – we have a wide range of abilities among our group from those who have just started to read music, right up to grade 5 or 6. Our conductor can orchestrate the music we play to suit the mix of players we have.
We welcome strings, wind, keyboard, percussion and recorder players, subject to space in a particular instrument section. There is no audition process. Potential new members can come and join in with a rehearsal or two before deciding whether they would like to join. We are a very friendly bunch and have a lot of fun, in addition to making music!
In Spring 2024 we introduced recorder lessons for beginners who would like to start their musical journey. We now have a recorder group of six and counting! Please get in touch if your child would like to start lessons.
Rehearsals are on Thursday afternoons from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School (NWETSS), Dublin Road, Bray.
